En Amazon Go sí que hay trabajadores, pero no son cajeros. Una persona saluda a los compradores en la puerta. Dentro hay una pequeña cocina donde varios empleados realizan platos preparados y sándwiches. Además, en la zona de bebidas alcohólicas hay una persona que comprueba que ningún menor entre a esa parte de la tienda por motivos legales.
La versión interna se estrenó en diciembre de 2016 y poco más de un año después ha conseguido salir a la luz. No obstante, durante este tiempo se ha intentado perfeccionar el resultado final e incluso se han escuchado las opiniones de los potenciales clientes.
